There’s something I love about intimate weddings and elopements. I don't know if it's the emotions when everyone's truly focused on the couple tying the knot, but I will never get tired of photographing small weddings. When McKauley and Will first reached out to me, I knew this was an elopement I had to photograph. McKauley and Will traveled from Kentucky to celebrate in Chicago with 12 of their closest friends. Their day was full of intention, joy, and genuine connection — exactly the kind of celebration that makes photographing small weddings so meaningful.
Belmont Harbor
After scouting a few locations and sending a few recommendations, the couple chose Belmont Harbor as their ceremony location. Belmont Harbor is an iconic lakefront spot in the city that offers stunning views of the skyline and boats passing in the harbor, away from the hustle and bustle.
After the ceremony, I captured portraits of McKauley and Will, as well as group photos with their close friends. Because this was a true Chicago elopement, we had to end the evening at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks — Wrigley Field. We ubered over to the stadium and got a few shots outside, before the group headed inside for the 7:00 pm Cubs vs. Guardians game.
